A Bit About Me
My name is Santiago, and I am an artist driven by curiosity, connection, and storytelling.
I am 33 years old and moved to the United States about nine years ago from Patagonia, starting from scratch with a background in architecture, art, and therapeutic practices. When I first arrived, I didn’t speak English and worked many different jobs. Over time, I realized that the visual language of art could transcend spoken language, and that genuine human connection and empathy are powerful enough to bridge cultural differences.
Through my work, people began sharing their life stories with me—their laughter, their tears, and their most meaningful experiences. Together, we transformed those stories into designs filled with personal symbolism and emotional depth.
I found tattooing to be a unique integration of art, healing, and the decoration of the body. It is a way to bring to the surface images that have lived in the subconscious mind and body for a long time. For me, the balance between depth and silliness is essential—honoring both the seriousness and the lightness of being human.
Life can be difficult at times, and at others, it is an incredibly beautiful gift. My art reflects resilience: the beauty that grows from darkness, like a flower nourished by what lies underground. I believe the challenges we face can become the nutrients we carry forward, helping us create a more meaningful and beautiful future.
Mucho love! ♥
